Okay, so I have spent the last two hours on here and on the net looking for a pattern. I know that I didn't dream it or anything, but I can't even come close with my searches.
The pattern is the one where you sew circles of fabric together with the batting, turn inside out so that it is finished. Then you sew the circles together so that the 'finished' shape is a block with the round 'edge' makiing for the look almost of a catheral window. I know what I am looking for but I can't find it. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! I hate oldtimer's disease. |
sounds cool, I will watch this thread and hope we can find out the name of the block

You didn't dream it it was done with denim but I cannot remember who posted it and with the search function not working I am not able to search for you. Sorry

Search for Quilt as you Go circles. I'm pretty sure that is the one you want.

I think I have seen it called moc CW and maybe "borrowing from Peter to pay Paul". I know the pattern you are talking about. It is in the Quilt As You Go type quilts. http://www.plentifulpennies.com/2009...dow-quilt.html Check this link out:)

The one from jeans is called Circle Blue Jeans Quilt. Pattern is at www.equilters.com/library/jeans/jeans-gallbaros.HTML. The - is an underscore not at dash. I also so the finished circle one. Directions are basically same except you sew and turn the like you mentioned.

I found reference to it here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-111194-1.htm
It was in the tutorial section Ann in TN |

That is it!!! I knew you guys would help me out. I have decided that I want to make a quilt for the rescue group that I used to work with. they are always needing money and the national Boxer Club meeting is going up the first of May. So of course, I decide today that I want to make a quilt for the silent auction. So I was thinking of making this quilt. Now that I have seen the denim version I think I am going to try that version, and do the edges like the Vintage Roses rough-edge applique. I have been wanting to make one of the Rose quilts for me and this would be a good way to figure out if I like it. Well, I guess I can start cutting. THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE - YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Just another reason I love this board so much. OH AND THE BOXERS THANK YOU TOO!!!! |
