There are a couple of good you-tube videos for Judy Niemeyer paper piecing that should help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q1i4cziyPY or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5DMxDfYlw0
I have one of her patterns that I haven't started yet so I have saved both of these videos. I like visuals .

yes please. watch some videos. that will help a great deal. Paper piecing is sort of like sewing backwards to our brains but you get used to it. after sewing seam, flip over and fold paper under too, trim the fabric 1/4 from that stitch line. sew and repeat. one always starts with #1, then #2, and so on. some PP need to be cut apart. i don't think that this one does. read pattern and look for video on this pattern too if you can find it. Good luck.
is this it? http://www.quiltworx.com/patterns/rustic-mountain-snowflake/

there are some tutorials on that page
