I am not really sure if this is the right forum or not. I need help, does anyone out there have a pattern for a baby quilt that they would like to share. I have a friend expecting her first child and want to make a quilt. I will be doing a jungle them. I am looking for something simple as this is what she would like best.
Thanks for the help before hand :) :) :) :) :) |
You could fussy cut the pictures of some of the jungle creatures, then block around them.
Maybe a 4 patch, 9 patch? Yellow Brick Road is a nice pattern for a kids quilt. You could also do a search online for baby quilt patterns. Theres tons of free ones out there. |

I keep coming back to the disappearing 9 patch . It's easy yet looks more complicated than it is. You could use zoo fabric for the "focus" fabric.
Here's one I'm working on... |
Here's some I found for you...the first one is super simple...and would be very cute with jungle animal focal fabrics!!

I made a baby quilt (about 36 x 36, I think) by making one huge Churn Dash block - I figured out how big each piece needed to be to make it the right size, cut them and voila!! baby quilt!! Went together very quickly

here are coloring pages that have circus animals that could be appliqued

I did a zoo quilt a couple of years ago. I did 4" fussy-cut blocks in a trip around the world layout. I did a zoo animal in the center, 3 or 4 rounds of bright fabrics, a round of zoo animals, etc, until I got it as big as I wanted it. I ended with zoo animals in the corners. I called Trip Around the Zoo. It was a big hit and really easy and quick to put together. Let us see what you finally decide to do. :)

I did some baby quilts...check out the picture section that says baby quilts...maybe on the 2nd or 3th page now...pretty easy too..good luck

I was at a quilt shop today and they had a jungle panal in the baby section. Would make a nice size crib quilt especially with a bright border or two around the outside. Sorry I didn't write down the name and I can't remember more than 35 seconds.

I just finished a quilt top of a jungle themed baby quilt myself for my Aunt whose son's wife is having their first child and Auntie is be a grandmother for the first time. She asked me to make a quilt. I will take a photo of it over the weekend and post it. I found a sweet baby quilt book at Walmart a couple months ago and the patterns are so very basic. I will get the right name of the book and ISBN number too. When you see the fabric it is all jungle baby animals. She bought the fabric at Walmart.
I'll post the photo on Monday. oooh just read DA Mayer's post.. here is a link to the fabric I used. http://cgi.ebay.com/JUNGLE-BABIES-PATTY-REED-ANIMAL-BLOCK-COTTON-FABRIC-BTY_W0QQitemZ380039941839QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNam eZRSS:B:SRCH:US:101 |
