Another option is to hose it, or hold it under a running tap, and just keep the water moving over it until the dye stops running. Can take a while, but will remove ALL of the loose dye.

What a flash back! I haven't heard of Fels Naptha in many years, but now remember that my mom could remove ANYTHING with it. I may have to try and find some. Good luck!

WalMart sells the Fels Naptha. It looks just like a bar of soap. It should be in the laundry products aisle.

Where did the red come from?
My MIL always used Fels-Naptha laundry soap. After she quit making her own. Didn't know it was still around. Good luck with that - that jacket really looked nice on your daughter. |

Don't put that jacket through the dryer until all the dye is out of it otherwise the heat will 'set' teh color. Try soaking in white vinegar overnight, then use a dye free detergent, clorox for colrs, and cold water wash. |
