Martha Pullium says to use a color safe bleach, and there is a ritz product that is suppose to take color out,

Thank you for all the tips...
Off to try them. I'll let you know how we make out...

If I'm unsuccessful, I guess we're making another one...

Another option is to hose it, or hold it under a running tap, and just keep the water moving over it until the dye stops running. Can take a while, but will remove ALL of the loose dye.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted ok.

Fels Naptha used to be pretty hard to find. I know my mom always got it at an Amish store. It will do a lot of amazing things, you can even make a paste and apply it to dry up poison ivy/oak, it will take out grass stains, blood, etc.

So sorry it ran. Sounds like you have received lots of good ideas! Good luck!!!

That is so sad. I loved that jacket. Keep us posted on your efforts.

What a flash back! I haven't heard of Fels Naptha in many years, but now remember that my mom could remove ANYTHING with it. I may have to try and find some. Good luck!

WalMart sells the Fels Naptha. It looks just like a bar of soap. It should be in the laundry products aisle.

Where did the red come from?

My MIL always used Fels-Naptha laundry soap.
After she quit making her own.
Didn't know it was still around.

Good luck with that - that jacket really looked nice on your daughter.

Yeah, where did the red come from?

Don't put that jacket through the dryer until all the dye is out of it otherwise the heat will 'set' teh color. Try soaking in white vinegar overnight, then use a dye free detergent, clorox for colrs, and cold water wash.
