I'm putting the border on a quilt with many dogs on it. How do I face the dogs on the bottom border? Do they look better facing the opposite direction or the same direction as all the others on the quilt. After I worked on this quilt for some time, I realize it is too busy with all the dogs and dog prints, but it is a learning trial for me. Thanks for your help.

I don't think it's too busy! I love it! I like the dogs pointing down but you also have the argument that the dogs in the border are looking at the dogs in the middle...sorry, I'm no help.

Thank you. Nice to know I'm not the only one confused.

I like it with the foot prints and the faces, it makes it more fanciful.
Dogs pointing down. Try appliqueing some dogs spilling onto the border, maybe a collie, then you'd have a border collie! |
Thanks. Never thought about the applique.

I'm with you guys, I LOVE IT!!! The way you have it, no matter where you stand, at least some dogs are looking at you!!! Where did you get the dog fabric, I can't find any around here (damn canadians, LOL)

When I put borders on that are one way prints I put the side of the border that is facing the center the same direction no matter where it is... all face the center the same way - does that make sense?

Love it. Border down.

I'd keep them the right way up. All the main bits in your quilt seem to be the one way.
