i started a guild. A friend and I identified all of the quillters that we knew and asked them if they new others. We compiled the list and called everyone and invited them to a meeting. They were free to bring other quilters. At the first meeting we did several things: We brought and shared our quilts. We talked about how we each came to quilting and we discussed forming a group. That was just 2 years ago and we are now about 20 strong. We meet most months and teach each other and quaterly we sew all day.....hope this helps. Oh yes, we meet in the local library community room at little cost.

Great info! I've been wanting to try and start a quilting group/guild in my area! I have no one to quilt with and it gets lonely.
