Help with quilting motif to highlight design
1 Attachment(s)
If you look VERY closely at this quilt top, you MIGHT be able to make out the wonky stars in row 2,4,6 and 8! These cute fabrics were the choice of a co-worker, and I guess I just didn't realize the lack of contrast between them all before I decided on this pattern for a baby quilt.
Any ideas for a quilting design that would help make those stars stand out? Any opinions on whether just stitching 1/4" around them be enough to make them stand out, or would a small stipple outside & around them be the way to go? I will be using Warm & Natural Cotton batting, so no help from the batting loft! |
I think ¼" either inside or outside would be great in maybe a red thread? And then some loose meandering in the other background squares might make the stars pop out better? It's a really cute quilt!

I'd re-think the batting ... polyester would let the stars poof up a bit.
Then SITD for the stars and stipple the rest. Consider your thread colour ... a good choice would help tone down the background a bit and let the stars shine out being that they won't have any thread on them. |
It's very cute! The start may it show up at first glance but it doesn't take away from the cuteness in my opinion. Quilting to outline the stars and a stipple in the background may help too.

Echo around them and then a stipple in the non-star areas.
