Thanks for the suggestions, found a pattern at Sweet Dreams that I am going to try. Need to decide on what to do with the white/red/black strip.

nativetexan: thanks, I really like the line quilting on the Modern quilt site, may try something like it on half of the squares.

Whatever the pattern is, it would adapt to a huge variety of colors. Nicely done.

What ever you do it will look great, it is such a striking quilt. You might use wavy lines to break up so much straight lines, just a thought.

You don't want it to look ''girly'', so fancy lines would not do. How about concentric triangles? ( done in a triangular spiral) red on red , white thread on white.

Personally, i'd take a ruler and draw straight lines, going with the design. the question remains, do you want the quilting to POP, or the design?
