You had the topstitching thread in the bobbin? That is usually for heavy weight fabrics. That thread is too thick to have in the bobbin for regular sewing. With it being on the top you need a very thin thread in the bobbin at least a 50wt 2 ply.

Another thing to know - if the problem is on the bottom side of your fabric, the issue is with the top thread. If your problem is on top of the fabric, then the issue is with your bobbin thread. So, if you're seeing loops on the bottom of your fabric, check your upper thread.

maybe you put the bobbin in wrong or threaded it impropperly. I have the same machine and have never had a tension issue with it. So rethread, clean out the bobbin area, and place a new bobbin, and that should do it. Sometimes its the simple things that mess us up, and we are so frustrated we don't stop and think about it, we just assume its a tension issue.

Okay. I am not very knowledgeable about thread. I always use the same thread in both top and bottom no matter what the weight. I have never had a problem. Why do you use a different thread in the bobbin? Very interested to know. will make my piecing better?
