HELP: suggestions for quilting a One-Block Wonder quilt
1 Attachment(s)
It's ready to be pinned and the more I look at it, the more I have no idea where to go from here to finish it. I am not a fancy quilter, usually just do a free motion meander, but am thinking that possibly this needs a bit more than than. I bought a variegated purple thread that I think will look nice. But now what? Thanks for any help you can share with me.

I would do large, soft petals following the basic shape of the triangles of the pieces. Maybe a smaller petal inside to add a bit more quilting if you like. That would soften the triangles and play up the floral prints.
|
That's what I was sort of thinking, it would be easy enough to do without getting too complicated, and I think I could get across the row without stopping. Thank you.

WOW, Judy that is beautiful. I am hopeless when trying to decide how to quilt something. Maybe leaves mixed with flowers? Maybe some easy feathers. Good luck. Let us see when it is done.

I plan to do a OBW this year and when it's ready for quilting, I intend to do an orange peel design. I will use the triangle pieces as the framework and do a arc on each side of each line.
|
I usually SID on OBW's, because anything else runs the risk of interrupting the designs. Yours is going to be very beautiful - love the colors.

I haven't done one yet, but I've always thought that the blocks are so busy your intricate quilting would be lost. I wouldn't want all the work of the piecing to be overshadowed by fancy quilting. I like the idea of the all-over meandering.

The fabric is beautiful!
