A friend of mine sent me this picture she wants me to find these fabric so I can then make her sister or neice or someone a wedding gift that is for June or July. Its not a huge deal getting it done, the problem is finding these fabrics. I have no information to go off of other than she found these in different quilts online and saved the picture. I told her she was crazy (she is a really good friend) but that I would try! lol So here I am, trying to name these fabrics.

Thank you for any help!

Well, the white is an easy find! lol
Sorry, I don't have ANY of those prints.
I'll bet they are an older print but I'm sure maybe someone might have something either the same or similar.
Good luck!

I'd tell her to go find the fabric herself.

Scissor Queen 02-18-2010 08:29 AM

Since the quilts she found the fabrics in are very probably Chinese made quilts it's not real likely you'll find the exact fabrics any where in the U.S.

That's gonna be hard to do however, you will have lots of help here!

Rachel 02-18-2010 08:59 AM

I say you and her go to the fabric store and pick out something. Its not like you're repairing a quilt so you don't need an exact match... Just something she likes.

Bluphrog 02-18-2010 09:25 AM

If she can give you the websites, you could go and look at them and maybe get some help that way.

Otherwise, I'd start at your LQS and try to find something close.

Honey 02-18-2010 09:49 AM

Both of you can go to a quilt shop. Take the pictures along and look for the closest match.

ok so everyone is thinking the same thing I was, she is out of her mind! lol At least I tried. Right? Like I said I would.

I did ask her were she found the fabrics (because I was not going to even attempt if it was on chain store quilts) and she said it was actually quilts like we here make mo mass production made in china sold in chain stores stuff. lol I think I will just drag her along this weekend to the fabric shop.

Thanks again everyone!

I think that's a great idea. I bet you'll find something she likes.

OMG! You made me spit alll over my screen when I read that! So funny!
yeah,.... I can't imagine it'll be too easy to find those fabrics.

That first one Joann's fabrics had it at one time a few years back. I would tell her let's go shopping.

I would ask her find out the brides favorite color(s) then ask if she wants to stick with small floral. That would be easier, especially since at least one of these patterns is two years old.
I think all these were Joann's Keepsake Calico line years ago.

If this is an heirloom quilt (wedding), I would take her to a quilt shop for finer fabrics, purchase the bride's colors in a print and add your yardage of white and start your masterpiece.

If your friend wants to keep with several colors as indicated, I would aim for the 1920's-1930's calico.
Best wishes.

Good grief. It'll be a cold day in Equador before I'd go looking for these. Sheesh.

jdavis 02-21-2010 12:34 PM

Not to be a killjoy, but if the pictures came out of some catalog (ie JC Penney), you may never find those fabrics! I would think she would be happy if you just found fabrics along similar veins.
there are sooooo many lovely fabrics out there. Perhaps she should visit your LQS....she'd probably find many she'd be happy with.

Justwanna Quilt, I think I used the second swuare purple flower in a quilt I made for my granddaughter. I will look through my scraps and see if I can find the selvage and and info on it for you.

vickig626 02-21-2010 04:54 PM

If you have a LQS to visit, usually the staff there are very helpful in picking out fabrics. I vote that route. It could end up a scrappy quilt but that's better than making you crazy trying to find a match.

Good Luck !

I believe the last two might be Michael Millers Blossom Fairies. I have one of those fabrics and those flowers and colors look just like what I have. If not, it is pretty close. Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for all the info.
We went this weekend and got a bunch of fabric. She is happy with all of it which makes me happy, she isn't the easiest to please some times. I am sure you all know SOMEONE like that! lol I would take some pictures but....we took her car and some how I forgot half of my stuff (along with the fabric) in her car and she doesn't live just down the road. lol So next weekend we have to get together again so I can get everthing.

Rina 02-22-2010 03:18 AM

Glad you got the material she likes. Please post pictures. We all like it to be jealous!
