You may even want to try a splash of white vinegar in your wash.

While reading all of these great suggestions I've been thinking... If this is the glue of the basting spray, the stain won't go away until the glue is dissolved. You may need some kind of solvent. I use household ammonia to remove the film of hairspray on bathroom surfaces, etc. Perhaps that would work.

i would try vinegar and baking soda on the stain

It was Sullivan's basting spray that I used. I really think if it hadn't been sitting around for a while it would have been okay.

I have tried Grandma's spot remover....dawn...lemon juice...oxy clean...clorox II...carbona devil stain remover...

The only good thing is that the batiks in the quilt look as bright as ever! This quilt has been soaked and washed and washed and soaked. I finally put the binding on it because I didn't want the border to ravel away. The person I'm giving it to is a very good friend, and I know she won't care, but I do. The stains have lightened just a little.

I really think the spray causing that stain might be a "fluke". I have used the spray for years and it has set for many many months on items and I have never had a stain from it. I hope the suggetions work for getting your stain out. Let us know.

All the quilting sprays wash out, so unless she used the wrong kind of spray on her quilt, it wouldn't need anything more than just a washing to get it out. There are craft sprays on the market, but one wouldn't want to use them for quilts.

If it is glue base you might try Goo Gone. It is used to remove gum, tape, stickers. Also works on grease, lipstick, crayons. This works very well, can be purchased at Wal Mart, KMart, Walgreens, hardware stores.

I only own one spot remover: SIMPLE GREEN :thumbup: I buy it at WalMart and it is absolutely fabulous!! I just spray it on, leave it sit a minute, and then wash, and it gets every (at least that's the way it seems!) stain out! It is especially good for oil base stains. Good Luck!

Pam, Becaeful of how manydifferent chemicals you apply to the stain. Try to just use one and rinse it very well before applying another one.
