Can any one help me in regards to
sewing sashing that has blocks in it?
I can never get the blocks in the sashing
to line up with the sashing coming down
in the row I am attaching it to. I have tried pinning
the block section in the sashing to the
row seam of the main body of the quilt.
Never seems to come out perfect.

can you post a pic of the quilt and sashing. that way we know what you might be doing wrong. I was told you take the absolute middle and pin going out in both directions. that way you know how much you are off.

That is why is like to add cornerstones:)

Assuming that the row you are adding to has been pressed, I would measure down the center and cut the sashing strip to that dimension. Then as stated before, pin center to center, end to end, and ease (or stretch) the remainder into the halves. I actually usually subdivide again for balance.

I am making a wall hanging of star blocks with 3 inch sashings. i did row one, then laid row two on top of the first row. making sure to line up the sashing seams well. pin, pin,pin and then look and see if it looks good to your eye.then sew. then same with row three. using a quilting/walking foot would help the fabrics stay inline with each other too.
