Yes...it was Sullivan's. I pitched the rest of it and will never use it again!! Like I said, I don't use basting spray much but what I have used for many years is Sulky Temporary Spray (mostly for machine embroidery placement) and I love it. Never had a problem with it :) Maybe I'll try the dry cleaning idea. Can't hurt, can it??

Dry cleaning won't hurt the fabric at all. Just make sure that you don't have any beads or other plastic adornments on the quilt. The triclorethylene (sp)or "perk" will cause any plastics or bead finishes to dissolve or terribly distort. DC will usually get grease/oil out of cottons if you don't wash and then dry it in the dryer first. Make sure you let the attendant know about the stains when you take it in and show them where they are. They may be able to spray it with a chemical that will also help it come out.
Now when you get it home hang it somewhere that it can "air out" for about a week or so. That way any residue perk will evaporate. If there is still an odor I would wash it in a front loading washing machine and dry as you would normally.
