Help with Warm Wishes pattern
My printer is not working and I’d like to cut out a Warm Wishes quilt top. Never made one before so can someone tell me where I can get dimensions for the blocks? I think the blocks can be made in many sizes and I’m looking for medium to large blocks. Thanks

The size blocks are listed in the pattern.https://www.quiltingboard.com/links-...e-t124471.html
Well I guess the link is too old. 😕. |
Okay I found the deminsions online. You can make the blocks any size but I'd make the blocks the size given and make more to make the quilt as large as you like. http://www.stcroixquilters.com/Guild...ply%20list.pdf

The pattern was in From the November/December ‘03 issue of Quiltmaker magazine and was a free pattern until now. Quiltmaker is selling it as a digital pattern for $7.99 They must be trying to stay afloat to sell a free 14 year old pattern.

It's a very easy one to make without a pattern. Just decide on your block size and divide by 3 for the bricks in the pieced blocks. Then arrange them according to a picture of the quilt. Easy peasy. Can't believe they would want $7.99 for that.

Thanks Onebyone. I was looking for that also.

the quilt is nade from two units:
a square and three strips/bars that make a square. examples: (using 1/4 inch sean allowance) 6-1/2 inch square and three strips cut 2-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches. strip piecing works well for the bars. finished unit size is 6 x 6. or 5 inch square and three "bars" cut 5 x 2 inches - finisned unit size is 4-1/2 by 4-1/2 8 x8 square and 3 x 8 bars finish at 7-1/2 9-1/2 square and three 3-1/2 × 9-1/2 bars finish at 9x9 |

I found it still on the old online Quiltmaker site under Linus patterns. You can find the crib and double sizes. I checked both PDFs and they are still both live. Good luck with your Warm Wishes. Its still one of my all time faves!

My Warm Wishes has the center bar wider than the side bars, so of they are cut with one color 2x6, another color 2x6 and the center color 3x6. The alternating blocks are 6x6.
Personally I prefer 2.5x7.5, 2.5x7.5, 3.5x7.5 with the alternating blocks 7.5 square. |
i think the design of the fabric would be the deciding factor for how big to cut the units. some fabrics are suited for "fussy-cuting". others seem to look okay when cut " wherever"

Can you go to your local library and have them print the pattern from a website for you?

Here is a free pattern.
