Help - what color of thread to use to quilt
2 Attachment(s)
I don't want too much quilting to show on top of these placemats as I Love the print; but the bottom is a solid color, so I want the quilting to show. On the rare occasions when I have used the monofilament thread, it stretched and tangled badly so I hesitate to try it again. Have used different colors on each back. (Ignore wrinkles - have not yet pressed). Any suggestions ?

Planning and piecing are my happy places. Quilting is so not my thing :(
When in doubt, I go basic white. I don't think it will clash with the top and will show on the back. For two colors maybe a very pale green on top and a darker rose on the bottom. |
I would say a light grey. You'll be surprised how well it blends in.

Pale yellow if it will go with the backing. It's hard to tell the color from the pictures.

I agree with Dunster. A pretty yellow would be awesome.

Light grey (I use bottom line, silver) is my go to colour for all quandaries like this!

I would use Invisafil in the silver/grey color. It's so fine, it's barely visible.
|
Pale green might look nice.

At first look I thought a pale green.

I'd go with pale green and make it a fine thread (#50 or higher) so it only adds texture to the front but is more visible on the backing.
