Does anyone have the directions to make a 12" Windblown Square. I have the diagram but have no idea the size to cut the pattern to come up with a finished 12' square.
Also how much fabric to buy to make 12 squares. Yes I'm a newbie at all this. I will be using 3 colors in the square.
Help PLEASE

If the above link is the correct pattern, you would cut all your squares at 3 7/8 inches (4 inches and then trim down would be much easier). Draw a diagonal line across the back of the light fabric & lay face down on a face up dark square. Sew a scant 1/4" from the line on both sides. Cut on the line. Press open and square up to 3 1/2" before sewing into rows.

I really like this one. I think I might be able to do it. Thanks for posting the link.

This is a 3 color version. http://www.quiltingassistant.com/windblownsquare.html

It is 9" and I wouldn't make it like the instructions. I would cut 8 white squares, 4 blue & 4 yellow at 4". Mark a diagonal line on the back of all 8 white squares and lay them face down on all the colored squares and sew as directed on my earlier post.

Or you could use 3.5" Thangles, or Ta-Dahh Triangles - Good for newcomers and oldtimers again.

That is a more difficult version than the directions I posted. I have adjusted your diagram to change the large center square and the Quarter Square Triangles in the corners so that the entire block is made out of Half Square Triangles according to the directions I posted earlier. I can figure out the math to do it the way your diagram shows but unless you're experienced with controlling the bias edges of triangles--I strongly recommend using the EZ method.

I'm attaching the instructions from Quilt Pro to rotary cut the block in both methods.
