Help with wool yardage
I recently received a small box of various wool yardage. Some of it is softer than others but all seems very nice and feels wonderful. Problem is...I have no idea what to do with it. I don't think it can be made into quilts because how would it get washed??? I sure need help from any of you with suggestions and or pictures on how I can use it. Thanks a bunch!

Have you looked on Pinterest ? Wool felting, wool appliqué, wool projects.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Gives me a starting point.

Remember wool is washable. People have been wearing and washing woolen garments much longer than dry cleaning has been available.
If you have enough for a simple patchwork quilt it would be lovely and warm. Or as others have said wool applique is lovely, as are wool placemats. |
You could felt it, then use it with no worries. There are some really nice applique projects out there. Pinterest is a good start for inspiration.

Yes, I'm with FaintlyArtistic, although with caveats. If YOU are going to use the quilt, then no problem. You will know to wash it with room temp water for both wash and dry, no agitation, and lay flat to dry. If you don't felt it, and give it to someone who doesn't know how to wash woolens, or forgets, and tosses it in the washer and dryer, well, then the problem will be coverage, because it will shrink from twin to crib size. You know, plus or minus.

Felted wool makes great pincushions.

Wool is washable - if done with care.
