Giving of yourself is the most precious gift one can give. You will receive many blessing in return, I am sure. Your friend is truly blessed to have a treasured friend such as you. And you get to feel that wonderful feeling that comes with giving. I'm sitting here grinning ear-to-ear!

Bless you for being such a true friend. This is an example of paying it forward.... Something good will come of this, just wait and see, and say Thank You to the highest powers. I am sure your friend will never forget your kindness. Besides, wasn't that fun???
Have a beautiful life quilting as you go. :)

Actually it was fun to teach, I think each of us gained alot. She is going to teach me to FMQ.

What a great thing to do for a fellow quilter. Giving of our time and expertise I've found to be very satisfying. I am sure down the line, she will pass on to others.

carolynjo 07-25-2011 12:49 PM

What a wonderful gift you have given her! True, her world will never be the same. I can just see the wheels turning in her head right now. Bless you to take the time to help her; she will be forever in your debt. Her husband may not be so grateful, though, as her stash will probably grow exponentially now! Ha Ha

Do you give lessons??

joyce888 07-25-2011 01:39 PM

A true friend is someone who just doesn't give you negative advice but helps you turn that negative into a positive. She had the quilting skills, she just needed the visual skills. Hope she posts her "new" project when completed.

I enjoyed your story, something special about sharing our knowledge and fabric with others.

sailsablazin 07-25-2011 07:55 PM

What a great friend you are!! I am in need of all of the lessons that you gave to your friend. I am sure that she will repay you in kind. You will get satisfaction just from watching the joy and understanding on her face. How nice!
You are not that far away...next lesson I want to be a fly on your wall.
What a neat thing that you did----gave her the gift of your time.

Count me in next time...I will be driving down (you can't be that far away) and will pick up others on the way. Will bring food in exchange for color, texture, quilting fabric lessons...LOL
