Not to long ago there was a post in the picture section of a hexagon quilt as you go that was done all on the machine. I can't find it for the life of me. I've searched to no avail.. Does anyone remember this post?
Thanks for any help Carol |
was it patrice's quilt for her son?

Kathy,
No unfortunately that wasn't it. I thought I had bookmarked it, but can't find it anywhere. Thanks for trying though. Carol |
Eddie's tutorial?

it was probably ones made in halfs or halves and then sewn into rows. easier than doing Y seams.

Maybe not the picture you are thinking of, but is this what you mean? They are called Framed Hexagons:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-580-1.htm Also found these: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-107698-1.htm http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-73904-1.htm Edit: Oops! Maybe you don't mean framed hexagons. Also found this method of quilt-as-you-go hexagons: http://ajpadilla.com/tutorials/rever.../sewing-blocks |
Unfortunately it's not any of those. Not sewn in halves either, that part I remember.
It was you make the hexagon with the batting and backing and then you turn it inside out and somehow you leave the one side open so when you join it to the others the open area is joined...or something like that.. I just need to see the tutorial on it cause I'm really stumped on how it really goes together.. Thank you for all your help in finding this for me.. I know it's here somewhere, but where?? I do sorta remember it was in the picture section.. |
I remember that too. It wasn't in this past week because I haven't been able to be here so go back a week or two farther.
|
I remember it, too, now that you explain how it's made. Basically, you make the hex first, quilt it, and then sew it to another previously made hex. I believe that was it. Very interesting.

I am betting it was in the Links section here :D:D:D
