Does anyone have a pattern for a hexagon table topper using 6 triangles with the base on the outer edge and the points in the middle?

Thanks!!! :)

are you wanting one that is a single hexagon, or made of several, and how big. I don't have a "pattern".. but I do have a 60 degree diamond ruler.. if you just use it you can cut 6 triangles with it and have your hexagon.
works great for fussy cutting, etc. I just cut a strip, then put the edge of the fabric across the diamond and voila!.. a triangle is a bit easier, all you need is to make sure it's 60 degrees.

Thank you very much.

I won't have a problem cutting the triangles. I'm just not sure about sewing the triangle "tips" in the middle so that it will lay flat.

It's easy. Sew three triangles together, base up, tip up and base up, like a W. Press both seams in the same direction. Do it again with the other three triangles and press the seams in the same direction as the first time. When you sew the two halves together, the seams will all circle around in one direction and the center will lie flat. I never have never left the center "open" as many people swear you should do, and my centers are always flat and secure.

I did that earlier this year, except the triangles are made from prairie points, saw it on sewing with Nancy

I wish that I did. I had seen one at my LQS the other day. I wish that I had looked at it more closely. I do have to go back. I'll see if I can either buy a pattern or have them describe how it's done.

I didn't have a chance to go to my LQS, but I made the table topper this afternoon along with coordinating coasters and a fabric bowls for the coasters.

The colors are actually tourquoise and peach.
