Love this thread, thank you for starting it. I make hexies where ever I am. It is a very portable project and I find it relaxing to make them. I have in progress a hexie quilt top that was posted on here by a fellow quilter in NY. I printed my hexie pattern from www.texasfreckles.com. She has several sizes to choose from and I print on standard copy paper and am able to reuse the patterns too.

For a few years and some projects, I was quite addicted! I like the technique, now I'm quilting a Charm Quilt (999 hexies) and changing to triangles and squares. I'll try to post some pictures.

My sis started me on hexi making and since I like to do small things I went with a half inch hexi. Because there are many ways of making these I think it is important one should stay with the same process of constructing the pieces in each project.
I downloaded the pattern from this site:

http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/hexagonal/

I printed the pattern onto freezer paper cut to size (8 1/2 x 11 inches). I cut squares larger than the hexi size and iron the cut freezer paper patterns onto the squares. FP holds the pattern in place with no shifting and can be reused several times.
Here's my first finished project

I am now working on a GMFG using this size as a doll quilt for my 3 yo GD. It's such a fun take along project.

Are the centers of the hexies in the gray project yarn tied? Post #57

I have hundreds of hexagons done and a few flowers. I am hooked on them. I buy my papers on line from paper pieces in the States ( in Ontario Canada) as my hexie papers are 1 1/8 inches and are not available in stores. I have a Accuquilt Go so die cut my pieces and cut for my friend in CT. And mail the hexie's to her. Using beige as a background colour and flowers are scrappy fabric. Making it all by hand and find it very relaxing. I know it will be along time before I will be finished my quilt, but looking forward to the finished quilt.
