I do I tell if I have a high shank or low shank machine? I have a Janome DC3018 and a Singer Quantum XL-3400? I just bought several specialty feet and I ordered low shank so I'm hoping that is what I need. Now I'm nervous....

watterstide 07-13-2011 11:31 AM

I have Janome and it takes a low shank. I do have different model, but I have two machines and low shank it is. I thought the Singer had their own feet, but I am not sure. Sorry I can not be of more help.

Yes! They are universal feet

Definitely low shank. I have a Janome, and there are some nice generic feet attachments out there, same quality too.

watterstide 07-13-2011 11:46 AM

while i was searching for info on the quantum..i came across this seller on ebay..

http://cgi.ebay.com/14-PCS-LOW-SHANK...-/250783844933

she sells presser feet kits. she has good rating..but i am not sure if the prices are good or not. been a long time since i bought new feet for my janome.
i believe all Jamones are Low Shank except the 6600. not sure about the newest model out the 7700.

Thanks everybody! I just tried all the feet on and they fit!! I ordered from Nancy's Notion last week when they were 1/2 off. I got a Deluxe walking foot, a Ruffler and a Bias Binder foot. I am so excited! Thanks for your help!!!

This is a GENERIC set of feet that the wholesale cost is only $10.00!

I figured that out... I bought 3 universal feet: Ruffler, Deluxe walking foot and a Bias binding foot from Nancy's Notions. These are not included in that selection of generic feet.

let me know how you use the bias binder, I bought mine from NN a few years ago and have still NOT used it...directions are not that great!

Thanks Jacquie for the info!

my friend bought the janome ruffler for her 6600, she loves it! said it was expensive, but worth the money!

I haven't even taken out of the package! I just HATE binding so much that I thought I would give it a try!! If it doesn't work, oh well, I've wasted far more money on far more stupidier things!!!!

I saw it used on a sewing show, I'm not sure but I think it may have been Fons & Porter (don't quote me) and it was the slickest thing... I just hope it works!!!
