Is there a place on the site where we can post our own hints and tips? I know we all have some favorites and many web-sites have them but this would seem an ideal place!

A lot of times if you've come across something neat, they'll just start a new topic to share. :D

If you type "tips" into the search area at the top of the page, between "chat" and "log out" you'll find lots of topics filled with them.
