HMQS Home Machine Quilting Show -Salt Lake City

Can anyone give me an opinion on this annual quilt show in Utah? It's coming up in May and I'm thinking of driving down for it, register for some of the lectures etc. Your insight would be appreciated! Thanks!

I would love to know more about it, too!

It is amazing!

I've been to it a couple times, and it IS worth the drive! It may be smaller than some shows, but the quality is there. There were quilts from some "big names" there. And the vendor mall is pretty good.

Well I guess I'm going! I've registered for some lectures and booked the hotel! Yippee!

Take a class from Judi Madsen. Her quilting is incredible.

Well funny you should say that...I signed up for 5 out of 6 of her classes she is offering and the Trapunto one of Kim Brunner's. I'm really looking forward to it and plan to make the most of the trip! Yay!

Yup! I'm a follower . Have her books too and have already used one pattern from them. I'm hooked!

I think you will have a good time. I have been the last two years, and I enjoyed myself a lot. Last year they had an incredible display of modern quilts that even my son's girlfriend from Norway (not a domestic type) just loved. I enjoy the vendor mall too.

Be sure to go on the evening bus trip if you havent been to downtown Salt Lake. Looks like there is alot of great things planned. Especially the choir rehearsal!

Thanks for the heads up on that! While I am signed up for a class that runs an hour past the time the bus leaves, it appears the choir practice is open to the public and runs a bit later in the evening. So I'm going to attempt to still take that in. I'm sure it will be Awesome!

A good friend of mine is the Associate Director. In fact he called me tonight to check up on my health issues. He is the younger one of the 2 conductors.
