hobby table

I am thinking about getting a table for cutting & pin basting. I am considering this table from Joann's
http://www.joann.com/home-hobby-table/xprd830869/. Does anyone have this table or one like it? Would you recommend it?

I took a baby changing table {that i bought at Goodwill for 5.00} and glued and nailed a piece of board on top and covered it with material and put my cutting mat on top and it works great. You can also iron on it without the cutting mat if you want to. It was alot less expensive than the ones I saw in the fabric stores.

I agree with mandy rose on the matter - better to spend your money elsewhere.

I have had this same kind of table (also from Joann's) for over 10 years, and I think it's great. I also use it for pin basting my quilts. I got it on sale then, too, or I wouldn't have been able to afford it. My house doesn't have any open floor space that is big enough. It works for me.

I have two!! Love both!! I like the way the sides go up or down, I use them for everything from drying washed quilts to cutting and basting!! I move them all over the house!!

This is the table I have, but sadly I don't have enough room to set
up as a cutting table really wish I could because I have the cutting
mat that fit it also and it has never been out of the box yet.

I had the same problem with the Joanns table and could never figure out why it swayed. Upon closer inspection we figured out there were hairline cracks in the soldering. Almost invisible but was easily fixed once we figured it out. Gave it to my daughter its been fine for her. I now have a beutiful Horn

I have the table. My husband changed the casters out for ones that has rubber wheels and it works great. Does not move on me. Give me a great surface to work on. I use it for everything from pinning cutting and ironing. Love the table cause it folds down if I need more room. He got the casters at harbor freight for a couple bucks each.
