A friend and I just bought both the 14" and 24" slidelock rulers, and just love them. We cut the fabrics for a lot of our kits, and it is very helpful.

Another vote for the Slide Lock Rulers!!!! They are pricey but they were worth the expense for me.....

I use my ruler with a "Quilter's Slide Lock" tool. Works perfectly every time. I have the long one and the short one.
A friend told me about them. I have always been rotary cutting challenged! The website is: quiltersslidelock.com

I have an Alto cutting system. Helps me so I can focus on the cut not holding the fabric since I have MS. Great help for me.

I have a Quilter's Slide Lock tool, also. Boy, does it ever hold the fabric still. I only wish they put a ruler on it instead of just clear plastic. But it sure works if you have problems with moving your ruler.

That's a great idea. I have trouble with my ruler slipping on the fabric. Why didn't I think of that?!;)

A tip I learned at a class was when cutting, put your little finger of the hand holding the ruler just off the ruler and this stabilizes it as you cut. Works for me.

Start with straight salvages and I like to use a small piece of shelf liner under part of my 5x18 ruler....

I use june taylor cutting system! Love it, make sure fabric is flat with no folds

If the fabric is off grain to start with, you'll end up with the v no matter how straight you cut the edge. After two cuts I re-exam the fabric and straighten it if needed.
