I love the way It turned out and vote for a yellow center.

Your colors are fine, all go well together. However try arranging few of the brighter colors into the upper left quadrant. Play around with placement. I'm sure you will find a pleasing arrangement.

I am afraid that I agree with you----it is a bit blah! I think that you need some brighter, lighter colors in the bottom half.
It would be nice to break up some of that blue and purple.

That I like & it looks like a real Dresden Plate.

Ruth,
I was planning on using the same plate in the quilt. It has 12 plates and the block would probably be white with the sashings the same color throughout the quilt as in the plate. The centers and corner posts would all the the same color once I decide what that will be. Thank you for your suggestions.

There are so many factors to consider. Is this the background fabric that we see here? Is this just one of several plates on a quilt? If so, how does it compare with the others? Where are you going to use it? What is the color palette there? I can imagine it being perfect as is in certain settings. I can imagine a whole quilt of sort of neutral plates, depending on the factors I just mentioned. I do think heather's suggestion of a yellow center is a good one.

I like it, especially all the purples, but a gold or yellow center would go well.

I like it. IMO the fabric gives it an old timey handmade by grandma look, which I love.

I think it is very pretty, you know all the factors, go with your gut.
