Honey Bun ( 1 1.5 strips) Ideas/Patterns Beyond Log Cabin?

I recently purchased 3 different Honey Bun rolls with 2 per fabric line. Now, in looking for a nice pattern, I am stumped. Do I just use a pattern that calls for Jelly rolls, or do you have any pattern ideas that call for Honey Buns? Favorites?

Any strip piece quilt can be made with the narrow strips along with jelly roll quits, there are many strip piece patterns. Log cabins, bargello and split rails are popular choices. French braids can be very dynamic. Browse strip pieced quilts for inspiration.

The use of 1 1/2 inch strips certainly opens up more design opportunities. You can make the design smaller by using the smaller strips. You can sew them together to make strips that will finish at 2 1/2 inch strips. If you use the smaller strips as the light areas of a Log Cabin you will get a moving appearance of the blocks. I'm sure you can find lots of examples if you 'google it.

I'm going to use 1.5" strips to make a pixelated heart quilt for my daughter. I have to cut mine though.

I would think that you could use any patterns that uses 2.5" strips but you would get a much smaller quilt.

This looks similar to a string pieced quilt http://quiltingtutorials.com/all/sum...rk-honey-buns/

www.modabakeshop.com/ there are some really great patterns....many are modern, if you like modern i can think of one that uses honey buns ---look for the magnifying glass next to the word "index" and type in off the grid That's a great little pattern to have some fun with!

I made the quick and easy Counting by 5's pattern at www.modabakeshop.com/.

Where did you find the honey buns? I've been having problems finding them. I don't think Moda is producing many these days.

Check out the 3 Dudes jelly roll quilt on U Tube. I used a honey bun I had been saving and it is the cutest ever block for this. Loved it!
