Honor bestowed on my quilt

I made a comfort quilt for my friend to take to chemo with her. She loved that quilt so much. She lost her battle with cancer last Monday and we drove 600 miles to her funeral. I was so honored, instead of a casket cover of flowers, they draped the quilt on her casket. On the label I had written "If you need a hug, wrap up in this". They had the label showing. I cried a bucket of tears.. It just goes to show the smallest act of kindness means the world to someone else. It was just a scrappy string quilt, but she thought is was wonderful. I will attempt to post the photo I took of it b4 I took it too her. I tried to post the picture but somehow it didn't come thru.

I am so sorry about your dear friend. That was sweet displaying her quilt tho. I know it comforted her knowing how much love you put into it.

Her family must have realized what a sweet wonderful friend you are and how much she loved the quilt. I would have
cried, too. In a busy and sometimes scary world, it surely comforted your friend to have such tangible proof that she was loved, wrapped in your hug.

Sorry your friend lost her battle, but glad you did a quilt to comfort her. I'm sure she used it often to feel a "hug" from you.

I just sent a hug quilt to my sister-in-law and she too has cancer. I know how honored you must feel to have it draped on her casket.

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure your friend felt much love from you every time she wrapped up in her quilt.

What a lovely thing, to have this meaningful quilt on the casket instead of flowers. Now you know your friend truly treasured the quilt you made for her.
