In honor of Earth Day tip

A reader tip from a Fons &Porter episode to reuse Kleenex box for scraps and threads. I know quilters make adorable bags for their scraps but I just can't find the time. This makes it easy and I can just toss when it is full.

Good idea, thanks. That should stop my one cat from going thru the trash can looking for scraps and stuff to play with:)
|
Great Idea. Never thought of it.
|
I fill pillowcases with that stuff then donate to my vet friend to use as dog beds.
|
We use empty tissue boxes at guild and toss when full. It takes a long time to fill one up even when several quilters are using one.
I open the side of the used box and put in a roll of soft quality toilet paper and tape shut. I have box of tissues that lasts a long time. I don't celebrate Earth Day but was tired of always being out of tissues from the small boxes. I don't like the big box of tissues, takes up too much surface space. |
I do the same thing for small scraps and thread cuttings.
|
I use an empty cereal box between my recliner and our magazine rack for trim and thread cuttings. I've taped a long piece of the removed flaps down the front side to make it less likely to be squashed by my chair and I empty it when it starts getting filled. It's narrow enough to not get in the way and holds quite a bit!

that is a NEW tip to me, hadn't thought of doing that

Good idea. It always seems like there should be a good use for these boxes.
|
or make pet beds out of it.
