Hope you can help me with this puzzle

Our charity quilting group receives donations from other groups. This week we got a donation box and in it were several partially made blocks that someone abandoned. I took this group home to try to figure out what to do with them. It's obvious that these are rows in a bigger block, but I am stumped as to what the other rows should look like. I'm hoping these ring a bell with someone and you can tell me what block they came from, so I can finish them.

Thanks for looking and for any suggestions.

I don't know. But they look good the way you have them in the 2nd pic.

If I can't figure out how to make them into square blocks, I'll just sew them together that way, like lanterns. There's aren't a whole lot of them, tho. Maybe they can go on the back of a quilt as an accent.

Are there dups?? I was looking at Chinese lanterns that these blocks might be able to be made into. I also get donate blocks and it is mentally challenging. Good Luck!

Some are dupes and some are singles...

If you have two sets of each block, I think it is the top and bottom row of a 7 row block

Row 2 & 6: HST, a color chisel, a block like the 1st row center-A, a different square-B, block A, a color chisel, an HST

Row 3 & 5: square same color as chisel-D, A, B, C, B, A, D

Row 4 (middle) A, B, C, new center block, C, B, A

It's like a mini trip around the world, with the corners cut off.

Anyone with EQ follow me? Want to draw it?

That's what I was thinking too. You can actually add another thin black stripe (or another intense solid) with white edges to give it more contrast. That way it doesn't matter if you have duplicates or not.

My idea is someone made too many of these stripes from a pineapple block. Your idea of lanterns or if you put the other sides together primitive butterflies.

Here's two wheel blocks similar to what I was trying to describe.

Those are so pretty, but I don't see how I can get to anything like that with what I have.
