I once read that "Creative minds are rarely tidy". I'd like to think I can use that as an excuse.

I have a sign on my refrigerator that says "A Clean House is a Sign of a Wasted Life."

Many years ago, before kids and quilting, I made almost all my own clothing, I was at a church function, wearing a new outfit. One of my friends was admiring the blouse and said "I don't know how you can work a full time job, make all your own clothes and keep your house clean!" My DH walked up just as she was saying this and said "Two out of three ain't bad." Needless to say, housecleaning was low on my list of priorities then, and still is. Sometimes you just have to shovel a path through all the stuff. LOL

I hate house work and doit once a week I do keep my dishes done up. I am fixing to go do them when I am done reading al the board I reall love this board. I teaches me so much. I have used alot of the advice it has given. Let the house work go and quilt. I don't have any children at home so it doesn't get to dirty

Having been raised my parents who thought that EVERYTHING had to be all the way done before you could do anything fun...You are not alone. Even when I would get the chores done, there was always something more. Try noise cancelling earphones so that you can't hear the housework calling. LOL

My motto is the only place Housework comes before quilting is in the Dictionary. However I do like to have my house reasonablly neat.
