How to Add Borders After Quilted

I have been trying to figure out how I can add to borders to a wall hanging that I have already quilted. At first I had planned to just add the binding but now think I would prefer borders, also. A narrow one and then a little wider one. At first I thought I could use a QAG method but can't see that it will work for borders. Any ideas anyone? This is just spinning around in my head and I am about to just do the binding and be done!

I did this - it was relatively easy. I think I googled and found a you tube tutorial. Maybe you can look for it. I'll look too

add as if it was a binding. I did it once long ago. good luck.

You have the right idea. If there is binding on the quilt, remove it first. Then just deal with adding the borders and batting as you would with a QAYG.

If you are adding a narrow border and then a wider one, you will need to do that in two steps, putting the narrow border on, then the wider one.

suern3 thanks for asking about this, and Stitchnripper thank you so much for posting this tutorial. It makes it seem so do-able! I've added the link to my favorites and plan to use it very soon! :)

It really was not hard at all.
