Interesting and funny that I came across this post today. I was looking through my books/patterns/*stuff* this weekend to find a border quilting stencil,[finally gave up and made one myself] and came across a booklet in my inheritance from my MIL stash. It is a State Flower pattern book for embroidery (which I love to do), and I added it to my "To-Do" list. It's from the 1970's. I think I'll modernize it a bit and add my new passion - dye sticks, crayolas, and fabric markers, embelished with embroidery. (That might be old-hat to you guys, but I just discovered it and me-likey) I'm about ready to post a picture of my first finished one.

I just did this one too! Here is how mine ended up...cuz I put them all on point with sashing and put blank squares in to make it work. Some of the blank squares are embroidered and others I will play with thread painting on my longarm.
