How can I easily reduce a pattern I bought...

My husband let me buy Judy Niemen's Mistletoe tree skirt pattern last Christmas and I want to make one at that size for my daughter, but want one only half that size or less for my little 2 ft tree we put up. Can I take it to Staple's and ask them to reduce it, or is that cheating? I don't want to cause any problems for anyone, but a 60" tree skirt would take up most of our living area & she didn't have a smaller one. How do I go about this?

I would send them an email or go to their web page. They also have a FB page.

I doubt if any coping company would make you a reduce copy since it is copyrighted. Yes, send them an email with your question.

This got me thinking....my husband builds model airplanes, and he has taken blueprints/plans to Kinko's to have them enlarged. They did it for a reasonable fee...but maybe those aren't copyrighted?

I had the original pattern for a quilt and Office Max [now Staples] gladly reduced it for me. It was for my persona luse not for profit. I had to go to one of their business centers for the large copier.

I messaged them on their FB page. Haven't heard back yet. I'm not selling it. Just want the big one for my daughter and a reduced one for my little 2 ft. tree. Thank you all for your help!

Do you mean Judy Niemeyer? That quilt in a normal size is a decent challenge; have you thought about piecing such small triangles and spikes if you are able get it reduced?

What if, instead of reducing it, you just deleted some of the outer sections?
