I've had mine just over a year and I picked it up to move it today and it looks like it is growing hair! Its not but there's so much fuzz on it that's it looks like that. Please don't tell me I have to replace it! I was wondering about some fine sandpaper?

The nylon dish scrubbers work well to get those little threads out. I think sandpaper would be to harsh...

First, spray it down with a 50/50 solution of Hydrogen Peroxide and water. When it stops bubbling rinse it first with hot, hot water, and then with cold. Let it dry. When it is completely dry gently spread some bamboo oil or other food grade oil made for cutting boards on it. From here on out if you do that once a week, those little fuzzies will go away and never come back. Mine is 17 years old. 8-)

Yipes, Heidi, I never knew to oil the cutting board. I've heard about oiling the rotary cutter. That's certainly interesting.

What kind of cutting board are u talking about? You oil a food cutting board, not a rotory cutting board. You can get a mat smoother for you cutting mat. Don't oil your cutting mat, board.
