How do you clean your machine embroidery hoops? Mine are gummy from the 505 spray. Rubbing alcohol isn't working. Any suggestions?

wd-40 or goo gone is the only thing I have found that removed that gunk....

I use soap and water.....it removes all the residue!

DK5 is made just for that purpose. It is great for removing unwanted labels too. I believe Clotilde is where I got it.

Nail polish remover can soften and weaken some plastics. I would caution against it.

I prevent the sticky hoops. I hoop my fabric, then I use a metal can both ends cut out placed inside the hoop, then spray inside with 505.

Or, cut a piece of HEAVY pellon to fit the inside staple ends togeather and stand on end of the hoop and spray with 505.

Also, I cut the top off of a large cardboard box and set it at an angle so I can spray inside with the can upright.

Hand sanitizer works very well.

Rubbing alcohol will dry them out I've heard.. I've heard some put them in the dishwasher, no drying though. I've also heard some have used shaving cream..

I use goo gone, works like a charm..

Some folks use Dawn.
