How could I think June was August?

I have a baby shower to go to in Aug. I have it marked on my calendar. I happened to look at the actual invitation and the shower is this month - June and this Sunday! Today is Wed. I have an all day obligation this Sat. My sewing room is non usable at the moment - new flooring is being installed. Oh my. The young mom knows I'm making her a baby quilt as she is a dear friend of my DD. I have the fabric bought so that is one plus. My pattern will be changed for sure. I don't have to have it done for the shower but I feel like such a doofus for getting the date screwed up in a big way. The baby will be born before August. I am challenging myself to have it done by Sunday. I'm thinking Warm Wishes pattern with alternating pinwheel blocks. I saw a picture of one made this way on this board and it's very nice for a baby quilt.

We all do silly things. Sometimes we never seem to amaze ourself at times, right?

What a fun pattern! Look forward to seeing what you make.

Chances are you were thinking that way, thinking the shower was to be after the baby was born!

You can do it, BellaBoo!

Thanks for sharing the pattern. Your quilt is beautiful! What a neat idea for a wedding gift. Good luck on finishing the baby quilt. We all confuse dates sometimes. At least you realized it in time.

Why not just do a rail fence. It would work up much faster and you would not be so stressed to do the extra work (pinwheels). I just made one for my daughter with 1 1/2" strips. I cut the width of fabric in half to work with 22" instead of the full 42". The smaller length was much easier to iron and keep straight. Good Luck.

I agree, I'd be doing a rail fence for sure. Once the strips are sewn, the blocks are done! You know how to do them; they can be set in so many different ways....here's one (just disregard the pattern instructions for your purpose.)

I think menopause for me should be called mentalpause. I feel that my brain is on permanent vacation. Nothing I do or fail to do surprises me anymore.:)
