That is correct. The directions tell you it only works on Oval Eye needles, not Circular Eye needles or Embroidery needles.

I have one of those and I have a clover threader that I can use for heavier threads. It's green. I love both.

I've had one of these for quite awhile....I couldn't live without it!

I have one! And, I, too, can't live without it.

HINT 1: I know some have said they couldn't get it to work. I hold the thread on both sides....pushing it toward the little lever. The minute I pull the lever down, I let go of the thread. It threads it each and every time.

HINT 2: It will not, EVER, thread the needle if you put the needle in upside down!

Too funny... I'm just guessing how you came across this hint....

I bought myself one and haven't used it yet! Thanks for the tut now maybe I will use mine! LOL!

I have seen these before and wasn't sure it would work. Now I know. I'm getting one or maybe several.

Yes, they really do work, however; it only works with one type of needles. The needles aren't expensive, but check the packaging to make sure you get the right type. I hold the thread with my thumb and pointer finger to hold pressure on the thread (make it taunt) and it works every time.
I love mine!
