I have succumbed to self threading needles. These are ridiculously expensive but you get them online through places like Quilt in a Day when they have a sale:
http://www.spiraleyeneedles.com/ I also use the ones where you just "pop" the thread down into the eye when I want something quick but for heavy duty hand sewing the thread sometimes pops out. |

I have had one for about 4-5 years. I can't thread a needle without it.

Isn't that an awesome tool? I bought one when I attempted applique with those fine needles and threads.......now I use it for everything! Without it, it seems that every needle I attempt to thread is defective! There's no hole! LOL! :-D

I have one, but can still see to thread the needle so I forget to use it.
craziness!! simple quilter |
I've been looking for one of those and our Joanns used to have them, but I haven't been able to find them now, but I can order one online, but will do that in about a month or so. Every one have a great day, Huggies, Fay

Thank you for posting that. I had already ordered it and was wondering if it worked. Yay!

I need one very badly. Had seen them but didn't know if they really work. You convinced me!
