Depending on how far you want to travel, start with your local quilt shops.

You can also check the websites of your favourite teachers to see if they are going to be doing any special events.

Check the section of the board for offline events - http://www.quiltingboard.com/offline...scussions-f16/. Several get-togethers for Oregon/Washington board members were started up there, and the group is now having regular retreats together. You might even start up a new group in your area. That's if you're looking for the type of retreat that consists of getting away with some friends to sew and eat and maybe do some sightseeing. On the other hand, if you're looking for a retreat with a professional teacher, look at the web sites of your favorite teachers. Often they offer cruises, retreats, workshops...

Have you joined a quilt guild? Ours has at least two retreats a year.

You can find as many retreats as you want.

If you wish to stay in your same state then I suggest local LQS's, your state quilt guild [easy to search for on the net as most have websites], various other quilting groups, and word of mouth.

There are many really good retreats not only in your state. We used to have 2 great quilt camps in our state but when one of the owners dies the rights to the camps were sold. I no longer know much about these as I am not an art quilter for the one, and I think the one up North folded. Usually you can find them in quilting magazines. There are cruises as well.

I guess it all depends on how much you can spend to go on a retreat and how long you have. That and how far you can travel.
