How do I hang this?

It's just the top but it shouldn't take long to finish. I have no clue how to hang this on the wall. I want it in my foyer for all to see but the only thing I can think of is to use the 3M strips. Is there another way I can hang this on a wall?

Two sticks ie pieces of wood one vertical one diagonally from corner to corner fitting snugly in triangles fitted into the corners. Now put a hook at the top .
I have used sticks some times as I live in a small village and a walk to the woods with the dogs is easier than go into ton. A flat pice of wood is easier to put a hook in than round. But could use either. |
It is spectacular! I will be watching to see what others say for hanging suggestions.

Is that a OBW or what is the pattern? It's lovely!

it's a lovely quilt. with dottymo's suggestion, i'd be afraid that the top two angled edges might sag. i would put two sleeves on the backs of those top two edges and put 'sticks' through the sleeves from top corner to the side corners. then i would put a cross brace from side corner to side corner. the bottom 'triangle' section would hang free. if you put your label on that bottom corner, you could then flip it up to show the label.

It's an embroidery design from Secrets of Embroidery. Each block took 2 hours. I did it in between other projects. I like the idea of the wood, I'm gonna try it. Thanks

You can cut a large triangle of foam core or stuff cardboard to go behind the whole top half of the square. Make a fabric triangle on the top corner for the corner of the foam core to fit into and 2 more for the side points. You can then sew some loops to the back to hang from the 3M hangers.

I use small push pins. They leave tiny holes that can be filled with paint when we move. We are renters.

Here is a graphic that is similar to Tartan's method.
In the graphic you are looking at the BACK of the quilt - the blue is the color of the "house insulation foam board" found at Lowes. The board is cut the size of your quilt. Jan in VA |
Beautiful workmanship! Thanks, Jan for the information provided.
I'm interested in the notion described a few months ago for hanging large quilts on the wall; I cannot locate the prior thread describing this product. |
