Or, if you're asking how to get the wedges and arcs pieced, paper piecing or using a foundation would probably be easiest. Once those are pieced, they will assemble like a drunkards path, as has already been pointed out.

I agree with this method. You could draw this out and make your own pattern.

@ post #6: That Dresden Plate is awesome! Thanks for the idea.

I imagine the seams pressed to the side so that they can be swirled in the center. And then roll over it with a steam roller. :D

Press the seams open.

Anna do you know where the block that is being held up came from? Maybe you could ask them about the pattern. Of all the patterns, yours looks the hardest. 3 separate rings, and my guess all three are paper pieced. If you are choosing--I would pick something a bit easier!

Yup pepita I am choosing something easier. I wil attempt to sew stripes, cut in wedges and applique a center on. It should look real pretty.I do not know whwere the orginal link is. I could not find it but I think I am good to go on a modified version like I mentioned above.

I am making this polka dot quilt. It is paper pieced except for the outside arcs and the are cut from a template and sewed on the paper pieced units.

Try the Moda site, It looks like free-bird. OR have a 9 degree angle ruler and lots of courage. Go for it. Pegeth

"And then roll over it with a steam roller" I just love Dunster's sense of humor!!!!

I am not an expert, however it looks like strips were sewed together then the triangle slices were cut out. Good luck.
