MY DDIL'a birthday is Friday and I would like to finish this by then! Any ideas on how to quilt the middle section?? By the way I hope never to do one of these again. I thought I could sew a straight 1/4" seam but you find out differently when you are doing all these long seams. Ugh!!

This is for my DDIL Jennifer @ her request.

Echo quilting? Seems like it needs straight rather than curvy quilting. Very nice job of piecing! Those long seams can be frustrating.

Could you make it look like a stain glass?

That's a great looking quilt!! I have had interest in doing FLW or Art Deco style quilts. I love this one! I would keep the quilting in fairly straight lines....like already suggested, probably echo in the form of boxes inside the cream background sections.

Sharon that's beautiful; and you're right, sometimes those straight narrow lines are more difficult than sewing triangles. I did one similar and I used straight line quilting on either side of the strips and some large cross-hatching. I think the beauty of any Frank Lloyd Wright structure or object is straight lines (Just my very humble opinion). You did a beautiful job.

I like the idea of trying to make it look like stained glass. That is what the original piece was. Some gray transparent thread to make it look like water glass is what I'd do.

Beautiful.

Diamond grid, have seen a glass door in an original FLW house.

I love this quilt! Great job. I am a fan of anything FLW.

I also think that a simple diamond grid would look great in that large middle section.

That is beautiful! FLW fan here too. Like the others, I think straight lines are your best bet.
