Ok, remember I am new to all of this. I bought a 5 yard bundle of coordinating fabrics. I didn't realize that one of the fabrics is a panel. How can I use it in my quilt? It has a large center piece, and various sizes of pieces also. Since I am new, please give me easy suggestions.

Put the large panel in the center. Cut the other panels out with whatever frame they have of fabric around them. Build them up with your coordinated fabric to the size blocks you want. Join them with sashing and when you have the blocks made with the coordinating fabric, lay everything out to see how you want to join them all together.

Any way you want! I did a search on the board and will put in the link. You could use the panel has a center square and work aound it. Make it a wall hanging to match the quilt. Depending on the size of the panels they could be pillows. You'll figure it out. There will be some ideas for here-

I love this pattern. I have seen it made up several ways and it was even prettier than on the pattern. One was a gingerbread man panel in the center, one was just huge flower fabric in the center, but you could use any panel you like. They were all just gorgeous and supposedly easy to make (I wouldn't know...mine is in my "to do" pile.

Pastimepatterns.com has several free patterns using panels. If your panel is not the right size you can always add borders to make it the size you need.

One of the problems you may face is that the elements in the panel may not be square, and the dimensions may be "funny" (e.g., 5 7/8" x 6 1/8" instead of 6x6). You may have to do some calculating to figure out what size strips to use to frame the pieces you cut from the panel, and you may want to try to straighten the panel out if it is warped. (Ask me how I know.) There are ways of dealing with this, and if you need help just ask this board. (Be sure to post a picture of the panel.)

You're not limited to centering the panel either.
