I don't ever have to worry about what to do next. I generally have 4 or 5 different quilts going on at the same time, and there's always 2 or 3 more ideas I'd like to start on before finishing any of the first 4 or 5!!! It's a never-ending cycle. I can't keep up!

I have a list of projects that I would love to do. The last time I started a project because *I* wanted to make something (ie no-one was pregnant, getting married, etc) I laid out the top choice patterns and went through my stash - I then picked the one that had the best options already in my stash!!

That quilt is now on a back burner while I finish a "getting married" quilt. This seems to happen more often than not.

I have so many things I want to try. I just started sewing this summer. I am working on a rail fence with fall colors and a fleece throw for my DH. I think my next project will be something with jelly rolls. Don't know what yet. I guess I am a quilter. I dreamt of quilt patterns last night!

I work on deadline projects first, sprinkle in a want to do once in a while between deadlines, and of course it depends on time of year because we make all our gifts for a very large family & have to start early. What fun it is trying to find a place to store it all here until it's time to ship!! LOL!

Start looking through my project notebook and see what "jumps at me".

Deadlines first, commissioned pieces with no deadline next, starting on Christmas presents so that's third, and things for DH and I last.

I started quilting less than a year ago. After I made my first one (which was for someone who had had a stroke) I decided I was hooked! So, I promised each member of my family that I would make them each their own personal lap quilt. So I'm plugging away at that. Well, then comes grand baby #2, and a desire to make one for my BBF...and lo and behold my list is growing longer and longer! At this rate...I need to live to be 100 to finish my "To Do" list! lol!

I have limited time to sew, because I work full time, so I prioritize. I have been trying to finish a UFO and got all excited about it. Now a lady at my husbands office just had a baby and he wants me to make a baby quilt, so my UFO gets put aside. Then today the fabric for a lap quilt for my father for Christmas came in the mail. So the UFO is set to #3. Then I have to make a bag for a quilt retreat exchange, so now to #4, then I want to make a quilted Christmas jacket for my husband's Christmas party now #5. Then lastly there is the project for the quilt retreat. It is a beautiful quilt but very complicated and will take a lot of time. So my UFO will have to wait. This is always the way it goes. I am really upset when NASCAR is over for the season because that is my dedicated time to sew. I watch a race and sew. That is at least a 4 hour block of time. I want to retire!!!!

A dart! No, seriously, I pour a glass of red wine, get comfortable and go through patterns I have printed, if one talks to me it goes aside, then I go through that stack until I find the one that shouts at me. The selection is much easier if a pattern reminds me of fabric in my stash and I can get started immediately. I already have several in a file patiently waiting for the right moment to start them.

No problems here picking a project. Have to finish a challenge top before December --just need to start cutting before I change my mind again about a pattern. But I am finally ready to start as soon as I get my sewing room set up.
