How do you display your enamel quilt pins?
I collect quilt pins from shows, fabric shops, row by row, etc. I am looking to make a small wall hanging for my sewing room to display them. I'd like to do something clever and cute rather than a typical nine patch. Any creative ideas?

How about SIAS or SIASIAS blocks, with the pin in the centre point?
Or pick your favourite block pattern, made on a small scale, again with the pin in the centre. |

I made a clock with some charm squares and mounted it to a burlap canvas frame. Glued a few clothespins on it and multipurpose use! I got the inspiration from this tute: http://owensolivia.blogspot.com/2013...-tutorial.html

I have a swap block quilt with red hens hanging on the wall of my sewing room. I pin all my pins, ribbons and fun stuff on it.

Our guild used to have a chatelaine we wore at our meetings and mine were pinned to that. These days, they sit in a box in the drawer  Maybe make a sewing machine wall hanging with wide borders and place the pins in it? Here are some small free blocks to start with. http://www.aqsblog.com/free-patterns...machine-blocks
Also another cute idea http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/quil...se-quilt-pins/ This blogger has a few fun ideas, scroll down to them. https://www.diaryofaquilter.com/2018...llections.html |
I bought a very elegant velvet round pillow with beautiful fringe at a yard sale. I use it as a large pin cushion for my brooches. I am thinking of making one to hold my quilting designed pins. I do have a lot of them.

I don't have a lot of pins, but I have a cork board in my sewing room. I pin up what notes I need while I"m working on it and my small specialty rulers. I have the pins stuck in there.
I also have a pretty fancy pin cushion, I did keep them and other things on it for awhile, but it kept falling off the desk (it was super light) and finally I got tired of it, took the stuff off it and that's when they got stuck to the cork board. I like your idea of doing something nice with them, for me the cork board is good enough. |
I don't collect pins anymore, but when I did, I displayed them on a pretty straw hat that had a really nice bow on it. I hung the hat on the wall, and put the pins around the brim, and on the tails of the bow.

I have collected state pins for more years than I care to remember. I made a map of the US and put my pins on their state. My quilting pins are on the border.

I put mine on a vest. I don't collect them any more.(Age is a factor now.)
