I have recently moved to this lovely little town in NE and would like to join a quilting group. The nearest LQS is 30 miles away I asked and they could not direct me to any group. Help.

Do an internet search for quilting guilds in your town, state, that's found the one where I live. There may be be one listed in Yahoo Groups, search for them in yahoo groups

Word of mouth. That's how I found the guild I go to.

if you can't find one, why not start one?

All wonderful suggestions. I did a Google search and found one about 30 miles away another 40. I will do some asking and if none I will certainly think about starting one. Thank you all so much for your help.

My Guild advertises in the paper but I was actually invited by one of their members while doing a craft show together. We're dear friends now. Hope you have the same kind of luck.

Watch the for notices of quilt shows (and I think there may be some sort of online listing of quilt shows too). Usually those are hosted by one or more guilds in an area.
