I have been searching for a quilt retreat in my area (up to 100 miles from home) and not having much luck. As I don't belong to a local guild (another story) I really don't have any local quilting buddies.
What should I expect to pay for a weekend retreat?

I've been on many quilting retreats. The fee varies from $150 to over $500 depending on where you stay and the activities planned.

I'm going on one on Cape Cod in November. We are on our own for food. The $150 fee includes our hotel room for three nights and a small space in the common room. The $500 retreat covers all food in a very nice hotel for two nights and lots of space in the common room.

Some quilt shops put on retreats, so ask around at the quilt shops. Seems like your area would have lots of quilters. When I go to Lancaster with my parents, we get off in your town and head to Shady Maple for dinner. :)

Sunnie, I'm not that far away from you so if you come across anything let me know! I've never been to one either, and I'm not in a guild (more for time reasons than anything) but I'd love to try a retreat.

Ah, you gotta be careful about that Shady Maple place for dinner as it can be habit forming.

Julie, I will let you know. And if you find any let me know and maybe we can meet up there.

Thanks Ms Crafty Bear. I have contacted the Mercersburg Inn to see if they have space available. The guild list isn't very helpful for retreats. Now I need to start searching LQSs.

Have you asked at your local quilt shop? Many stores have put on retreats.
I do retreats with a group of friends...actually we combine 2 groups to come up with the minimum # needed which is 20...we usually have 20-24...and then there is a place about 1/2 hour from here that lets us rent their facility for the retreat....they do the cooking, we do the sewing!

Another place to look would be at church camps-there is one about an hour from here that has quilters and scrapbookers camps...maybe there is something like that in your area.
